Great stuff. I use something similar to the above/below fold: I add a number to tickets (features, bugs, etc.), increasing it each time a customer/stakeholder mentions it. It allows me to organise the backlog in a 'prioritised' way without committing too much.
Ha! a few years ago one of my friends promoted the idea of "icebox zero" - by which he meant nuking the entire backlog. I do love the idea of getting rid of the cruft :)
